Trust and safety

What Lumo holds, what gets photographed, and what happens if something goes wrong.

In short

Lumo, not the owner, holds the renter's security deposit and settles it after the owner confirms the return. Both sides photograph the item at handover and at return, so its condition is on record. Listings show the owner's area, never the address.

  • Deposit held by LumoNever by the owner. Settled after the owner confirms the return
  • Photos at handover and returnBoth sides photograph the item, so condition is never a matter of memory
  • Area, never the addressListings show the owner's area, not their address

If something comes back damaged

The owner reports it in the app when the item comes back. The handover and return photos record the item's condition, and Lumo settles the deposit it holds after the owner confirms the return.
